FAQs
We realize this list doesn’t cover everything, but we hope it answers some of the most common concerns.
What are the event dates?
March 12-17, 2025. (If you’re looking for all the important deadlines, scroll down, they’re listed below.)
How do I purchase a ticket?
Potential attendees must first complete our Registration Form and approved registrants will receive personalized ticket links to their emails. Registration does not guarantee the ability to purchase a ticket. Registration will close on February 28, or if the event sells out.
How does camping work?
Because of the location’s terrain, “first come, first serve” camping isn’t a thing. Instead, every attendee must be a part of a camp, and each camp is assigned to a particular site at the campground. You must camp in your assigned location.
How do I become a part of a camp?
Camps can be theme camps, groups of friends, or you can also you can be adopted by Orphans.
Talk to your homies! We have quite a few long-standing camps, but we also highly encourage the creation of new camps. Figure out who you’d like to set up with, give your camp an official name, pick out one person as Camp Lead, and boom - you have a camp! Camp leads need to fill out the Camp Registration Form so we can place you in the perfect spot.
If your camp’s too small, you might get buddied up with another small camp. Anyone who hasn’t specified a camp by the placement deadline will automatically be placed in Orphan Camp. (It’s a great place to make new friends for a new camp next year!)
What’s the difference between a regular camp and a Theme Camp?
Theme Camps are usually camps that intend to add a little something extra to the event, but all camps are good camps, and we love you.
Can I do something for the event without being part of a Theme Camp?
Of course! If you’d like to host a workshop, make some art, etc, we’re here for it! Spill the details of your idea in our Participation Form.
Will there be food, ice, etc available for purchase on-site?
Occasionally there is ice available, but it is not guaranteed. Practice radical self-reliance, and make sure to bring everything you’re going to need for your adventure. (There is no re-entry if you decide to leave the event.)
What about my trash?
Whatever you bring into the canyon, you need to bring OUT of the canyon. This is a leave-no-trace event.
Is the location difficult to get to? Can my car make it?
The location is rugged and remote, and we recommend high-clearance (or 4WD) vehicles. Don’t risk putting yourself, your riders, or your car at risk by risking bringing an ill-suited vehicle. Your phone might not work if something happens, and even if it did, this isn’t a place where you can call a tow. (Also, be on the lookout for cows, donkeys, and other random animals.)
If you’re looking for help with a ride or want to find folks to caravan with, we’ve got a handy-dandy rideshare spreadsheet.
Are there showers or toilets?
Yes, there are a limited number of showers and flushing toilets. Please remember that this is Mexico, so waste bins will be provided for the toilet paper. DO NOT THROW PAPER INTO THE TOILETS. It will not go well, for anyone.
Will there be power available?
Nope, this isn’t that sort of campground. Feel free to bring your own genny, but please remember that amplified sound is not allowed during the event unless previously approved.
What are the important dates I should know?
Camp Registration deadline: February 17
Placement deadline (all campers): February 20
*(All participants must designate a camp to avoid being placed in Orphan Camp.)
Renegade deadline: February 17
Non-camp workshops/events/art deadline: February 17
Ticket sales end on February 28 (or when we reach capacity).
