It's cool to be clever.
Safety doesn't have to be 3rd.
Pro Tip: If you are asked where in Baja you are going?
The answer is SAN FELIPE.
Rules and safety:
1. DON'T BE DUMB
Basic rule, but it has a wide variety of practical applications.
If you think you are being dumb, chances are you’re being dumb.
2. BE AWARE OF YOUR SURROUNDINGS
Our location isn't a field of grass or a gentle beach. It's a little... extra.
3. SAFETY IS EVERYONE’S RESPONSIBILITY
While the organizers have taken great steps to ensure the safety of those who attend, we ask that you feel empowered to help keep the event safe. In short… if you see someone breaking any rules, don’t be afraid to tell them. If you don’t feel comfortable telling them, please tell us. We want everyone to feel comfortable and safe.
4. DON’T BE DUMB
Just in case you missed it the first time., stupid happens all by itself.
5. LEAVE NO TRACE
As you might expect, this is a leave-no-trace event. What does that mean? It means that if you bring something to the canyon, it must leave the canyon when you do. Please be prepared to be on MOOP patrol and haul your trash home with you. Just like at The Burn, camps will be flagged for non-compliance.
6. RESPECT & CONSENT
To most of us, this goes without saying. Respect your own space and that of others, and remember that consent is definitive, not a question. If you feel that your space is threatened by anyone or anything, please grab your nearest Ranger or Organizer.
7. DON'T BE DUMB
But like FOR REAL. We meant it!
8. PARTY SMART
Do not engage in activities that put yourself or your fellow attendees at risk. This is a treacherous environment, and your actions have consequences.
9. LISTEN
The Organizers and Rangers are there to keep things safe and serene for everyone. Please don’t argue with them. They have everyone's best interests at heart, including yours.
10. TRAVEL WISELY
Carpool. Don’t Drive at Night. Limit your number of stops between the border and the canyon. Stick to the washboard road. We want you (and your car) to get to and from the event safely in one piece.
11. AGE REQUIREMENT
Children under the age of 21 are not permitted.
12. ANIMALS / PETS
Pets or animals of any kind are prohibited, please don't ask. Bringing a pet will cause you to be immediately denied at the gate. (If you have and require a service animal, because of the location, the animal must be acknowledged and approved by the organizers before your arrival.)
13. NO SHIFT PODS
Space is limited in the canyon, shift pods take up too much space once tied down properly. We know they're wonderful to camp in, but we don't have the space for them.
14. NO AMPLIFIED SOUND
Amplified sound is unpermitted in camps, unless pre-approved for theme camp events or renegades. This includes ICON Bluetooth speakers or other speakers of this size. Personal Bluetooth speakers are welcome as long as the volume levels do not disturb another camp.
