Empowerment in Chaotic Times
Hosted by: Ayamanatara
Friday 11am - Noon
We are in the midst of shifting from the paradigm of capitalism and patriarchy to a paradigm of equality. The road is hard and looks terrible because all the sediment is being kicked up from the bottom so it can be cleared - a cultural, socioeconomic healing crisis of sorts. What does this mean? What can we expect? How can we surf the wave more gracefully? How can we speed up the process?
This workshop aspires to answer those questions. It also aspires to give you a better sense of empowerment, to help you see the real choices in front of you, and to aid you in creating a stronger community, because together is how we get through this.

Vibe & Community
Hosted by: Professor Bourne
Friday Noon - 1pm
There is this ineffable force that animates our community gatherings. Something that we all seem to intuitively understand but can never quite pin down. Yet, this elusive presence becomes the frame through which we make sense of the big beautiful festie world. What is “Vibe”? How does it foster community? How can we bring it beyond the canyon walls? In this informal discussion, Duke University PhD Candidate in Ethnomusicology, Cade Bourne will offer up some insights based on three years of intensive fieldwork and nearly 30 years as part of Electronic Dance Music Culture (EDMC). Cade’s work focuses on the intersection of affect, sound, and technology. His dissertation explores the conditions by which something like “Vibe” comes to exist in festival settings. His forthcoming chapter in The Oxford Handbook for Electronic Dance Music Studies will be part of the first EDMC “textbook” and will be published by Oxford U Press in 2026. Join us so Professor Bourne can shamelessly mine your ideas for his research.

Somatic Interventions for Stress and Anxiety
Hosted by: Andrea Stocker
Saturday 10am - 11am
I will be teaching a workshop on somatic interventions, which are mind-body connections that help us process trauma, stress, and anxiety. We will explore a few different self-soothing techniques including progressive muscle relaxation, tapping, and a few others. Research shows that we carry stress and trauma in the body, which can lead to other mental health and physical health issues. Somatic interventions help us be more mindful in our body to address our stress and let it go in a lasting way.
